When trying to reinstall windows xp, I receive the following error:
winnt32.exe - application error. The application failed to initialize
proper(0xc0000006)

Ever since I completed some microsoft upgrades last weekend my machine locks
up and I noticed some SP2 hotfixes when looking at my add/remove programs. I
don't have SP2 even loaded. Still using SP1.

I figured reinstalling XP would resolve issue. Any help or direction would
be appreciated.

Thank you,

Ron

The hotfixes or updates that have SP2 text with them are included in
SP2,with SP1 installed it still uses the updates for the OS.How are you
trying
to reinstall xp,sounds like youre trying in IE,that isnt good idea. You need
to
boot to xp cd (set BIOS for this if needed),then at xp cd boot menu, you can,
select install xp,option 1.repair this copy or 2.install xp In 2.delete
the partition,
create one, then xp formats and installs auto Repairs delete all updates,by
the
time you go thru that, you could have done a new installation
