Hello,

I upgraded by Windows 2000 machine to Windows Xp Professional version. I
had the vpn connection set up and working on the Windows 2000 platform. After
the upgrade, I am unable to use the vpn connections. Even when I try to
create a new vpn connection, I am unable to do so. After I select VPN in the
network connections, the next page has 2 options Dial Up Connection and Vpn
Connection which are both disabled.
I am unable to find any information on the web regarding this error..
Can anyone tell me whats causing this?
Thank You

Hi,

I do not want my machine to act as vpn server. All I wanted to do was create
a vpn connection.
Usually its pretty straightforward, in your guide manual, select Connect to
network of my work place as the type of network connection , followed by VPN
network connection. My problem is after selecting the workplace option, my
next screen has all the options (inluding vpn connection) disabled.
I cannot fugure out why it is disabled.

Any help here?
thanks

This is a common reason:

You Cannot Create a Network Connection After You Restore Windows XP

The usual fix is to re-apply your current service pack, SP1 or SP2.
