XP Professional, SP2 installation

We have a small network with XP Professional as
administrator and other PC's as users. Cable modem in
connected to XP thru USB Port and Ethernet connection to
other computers (running Windows 98). All was well with
internet connections until Service Pack 2 installed.
Internet was knocked off line for users so SP2 was removed
on administrator. Even though the network is still there,
only Administrator computer is accessable.

What happened? And how do we correct this problem?

I would recommend to read http://www.michna.com/kb/WxSP2.htm and
install Service Pack 2 again.

In addition to Hans excellent site, I would also recommend:

Service Pack 2 Pre-Installation Checklist (Jupiter Jones, MVP):
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/xpsp2.htm

and if you have a history of adware/spyware infections, either one of
the following.
