XP Professional installation

I am trying to install XP Professional over my Windows 98
2nd edition system.
One of the set up steps states that I do not have
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ASYCFILT.DLL version 2.4.0.4277.1.
Can this problem be rectified please?
