I have a PC with 3 user profiles. As administrator I load 10 application
programs. I drag ICONS on to desktop and also to ALL USERS DESKTOP. I put
users into a group and assign each Application access. However when my users
login, they still can not access applications. What is the problem? Do I
have to load each program in the users profile so that registry and security
settings are set for that user or is there a local security policy in effect
preventing my users from accessing program files?

Any help would be appreciated.....

Thanks

Hi mitch,

You may need to change permissions on the program's installation folder. The
users will need at least read and execute privileges. It may still be
necessary to reinstall it under each user login, this is very common with
older software.

Thanks Rick--

Yes-thats what I had to do. I had a new application developed in dotnet
that I also had to do this for. When I looked in ADD/REMOVE programs; it
looks as if its there for each users profile I loaded under. However, when I
check space on drive, its only appears to have been loaded once. XPPRO is
very security concentious and I've heard VISTA is going to be too!
