Can anyone tell me for sure, please no guesses, whether on not XP Pro will
work on an AMD 64 processor? Or will I Have to switch to XP Pro64?

Yes, it will. Both AMD's Athlon64 and Intel's EMT64 processor line
fully support 32-bit extensions, so both will run the 32-bit versions of
WinXP (home or Pro).

Or will I Have to switch to XP Pro64?

Only if you want to do so.

But bear in mind that although 32-bit XP Professional will run on a 64-bit
processor, you get no extra benefit from the processor's 64-bitness that
way. It treats it as if it were a 32-bit processor.
