I've just built a new PC which was running OK but has now got to th
point where it starts and then when you try and log on as a
administartor it immediately re-boots and effectively stays in thi
closed loop.

All updates for both XP and various hardware drivers have bee
progressively installed in the past couple of days to no avail it seem
!

Any offers of what the problem could be please ?

Cheers

Can you boot into Safe Mode? If so then go into Control Panel -
System - Advanced and click on the Settings button in the Startup and
Recovery (bottom) section.

In the Startup and Recovery window click on the checkbox for
"automatically restart" to clear it then on Apply and OK as needed to
exit.

That should put an end to the reboot loop and will likely give you a
BSOD error screen with a STOP error message. If so then the contents
of the STOP message will be a direct clue as to the cause of your
problems. Post that information back here.

Good luck

Thanks for this but not a Windows XP issue at the end of the day but
faulty RAM ! As soon as I put in a stick of older memory, off it went
!

Thanks
