XP Pro upgrade

Hi, I just recenty bought a new pc, it came with xp home, I own pro, so I
did and upgrade, at which point, I lost all use of office 2003, I found that
I needed to install sp1a to resolve that, once I installed the sp, I lost all
mouse function, for both my standard plug & play (which I tried after my
usual mouse failed) and my logitech mouse, the disk with the updated drivers
did not help, so I had no choice but to uninstall sp1a.
I'm at a loss, please help, I really need to access my office programs.
Thanks in advanced, Nikki

Upgrading to WinXP Pro would not cause the loss of Office2003, nor would
upgrading to SP1a fix it. I would speculate that you did a new installation
rather than an upgrade. In any case, you will need to reinstall Office2003
from the installation media (hopefully the merchant provided you with such).

It sound very much like you did not do an upgrade, but a clean
installation, which caused the loss of everything on the drive,
not just Office.

No, this isn't at all true. Where did you "find that out"?

If you actually did a clean installation of XP Professional, and
lost Office, you'll need to reinstall it from the original media.

Actually, I did do an upgrade, I still have office and all other files and
folders, but I get an application error (0xc015002), the knowledge base
specifically states that this error can be resolved using sp1a,
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;822520 however, I
cannot update using any service packs because I lose all function of the
mouse. The question is how to solve that.
