Hi There,

I want to upgrade my XP Home Edition to XP Pro but I get
a blue screen stop message saying:

BAD_POOL_CALLER

Stop 0X000000C2
(0X00000007,0X00000CD4,0X00340045,0XE17A1DDC)

This happens when the Windows Installer is Installing
Devices.

I have no idea what this means or how to fix the problem,
so any help would be most welcome.

Hi,

It means a device driver isn't working or is missing. It may be that your
Home system uses some proprietary drivers that came with the system, and the
same ones are not available in the retail version you are upgrading with. If
this is the case, check with the system manufacturer for a downloadable
driver set for the system, as it may be required to operate correctly. The
needed drivers may not be in the retail version.

Hiya,

I just had same problem on a number of new Dell Dimension systems - and
finally got XPP installed - I took out the modem card, the system installed
then reported that there had been a problem with the graphics driver too...
probable best solution is reduce EVERYTHING to base drivers, unplug ANYTHING
not essential then add back when upgrade complete.

Let me know if this sorts out or helps with your prob, or if you solved it
another way.

Regards,

Jason
