XP Pro upgrade on SATA RAID

I recently bought a Dell 8300 with 2x 250 GB SATA RAID
hard disk. It had Windows XP Home on it. I have tried
to upgrade to XP pro but Pro will not recognise the Hard
drive. The screen goes blank and the system hangs. When
I create a floppy containing the driver from the drivers
CD provided by Dell (using the f6 button) XP continues to
ask for the the manufacturer's driver floppy. I have
contacted Promise (the maker) and they say ask the
manufacturer (Dell). Dell have said ask Microsoft. Can
you tell me how to get XP to recognise the hard drive?

Make sure the txtsetup.oem file is in the root directory of the floppy --
the XP install routine will not search subdirectories. That file will then
redirect the installation to the correct subdirectory for the .sys and .inf
files. From my Promise disk:

====================
Contents on the disk
====================
README TXT This readme file
FASTTX2K Microsoft Windows miniport disk label file
TXTSETUP OEM Microsoft Windows miniport text mode setup file

WINXP <DIR>
FASTTX2K SYS Microsoft WindowsXP miniport driver
FASTTX2K INF Microsoft Windows miniport setup file
