Hi,

Silly question time.
I am going to fix my friend computer that has a bootleg XP Pro. I am going
to install my XP Home official software instead.
If I do this will I have to download all the mouse and keyboard drivers etc.
or will they load automatically when XP Home installs ? What about sound
card and graphics card drivers etc. What do I do about them. Will the
computer find them automatically ?

Dawn;
Since there is no downgrade path from Windows XP Pro to Home, you will need
to perform a Clean Installation of Windows XP Home.
The mouse and keyboard drivers should be OK.
But you may need to download sound , video, etc.
If Windows XP Pro has the drivers, most likely Home does as well.
You should check with the hard drive manufacturer.

In addition to Jupiter's response...

When you install your XP Home then you'll have to remove your copy from your
PC to remain within the guidelines of the EULA. Else they may have issues
with activation and with Genuine Advantage.
