Im sick of this! I have tried different network cards including
wireless, XP boots to the desktop in good time but then the system is
unusable (freezes if you open my computer) until the network has
started (indicated by the network icon appearing in the system tray
then everything is ok).
I tried changing the "always wait for the network at computer startup
and logon" but obviously that just moved the delay to when the computer
starts, cannot logon until the network starts.
This stupid fault is adding an extra minute to the startup process and
it seems a lot of other people are having the same problem, is there a
workaround? Nothing on Microsoft's website, probably cant be bothered
to fix it as all there developers are busy with Vista which is far more
important lol
oh yeah and if you disabled the adaptor and then re-enabled it takes
about 3 seconds to initialise and get an IP address, our DNS servers
are fine too.
