I have 3 as near identical as I can make them, XP PRO computers that share
everything.
I am aware that some protected items cannot be shared.
I have shared all partitions on all computers. However, one of my computers
will not allow access to the folders within the partitions even although the
partitions are shared and appear on the other computers. I have had to go to
the individual folders on this computer and invoke sharing. I don't have to
do this on the other computers.
Anyone know why this should be so?
Thanks.

Check the Simple Sharing settings and make sure they are all disabled on
all machines. Folder Options>View tab.

Uh...Do you have any type of firewall installed or turned on? If that isn't
the problem then you may want to try and carry the drive off to the poop, and
reticulate your speculum with a spatracus ratio of 675 to the power of Kip
Winger and Eddie Van halen.

"Don't Panic!"
MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User

ZoneAlarm on but all computers are listed in "trusted Zone" with their
respective IP addresses - this is not the problem.
The Tools/Folder Options/View tab On this (problem ) computer is identical
to other (non-problem) computer.

Got anything installed on the problem computer such as Windows Defender?
Otherwise, without looking at the machines I can't tell what you've got
set wrong. Here's an excellent network troubleshooter by MVP Hans-Georg
Michna:
http://winhlp.com/wxnet.htm

If you take the time to go through it, the troubleshooter will usually
pinpoint the problem area(s).

Also, recheck the permissions on the parent folders of the machine with
the problem to make sure they match the working computers. Click the
"Advanced" button and look at the owner, effective permissions, etc.
