Check the memory.
Check the cable connections.
Check that you have good power.
Check that your CD is relatively unscratched.

What version of the CD (specific flavor and service pack level) are you
trying to use?
Might you need a mass storage driver (F6 installation)?

Thank for your answer,
I have checked the wiring, ram is being detected by the system, I don't know
how to check the power quality. How do I know if a need drivers for the HD (I
was able to format it)?
I am using a brand new copy of xp pro (2002, serv pack2) that is able to
load and install some files fine until it gets to the agreement section then
stops.

Does the license agreement in fact show on the screen? If so, press F8.
There is NO "next" button.

And if you *agree* to the terms? (Pressing "F8" like it says to...)

Or does your keyboard not work at that point in the install?

It just never shows the agreement. It just says "windows xp licensing
agreement" on top of the screen and says "please wait....." at the bottom, no
options to accept, continue , cancel, nothing.

Is this an original hologram CD or one that was made as a copy and purchased from
some source

Try cleaning the CD.

I have also had the experience where a CD would not play. I used Roxio to
copy the CD to a blank. The copy worked fine. I don't even try to explain
why!

Peter, thanks for your time

The copy is original, I bought it when I got the mobo.
