if i have xp/pro running under ntfs, (getting ready to do clean install
of xp-got at x-mas), if i load my ms money program, the load into the
money program the data file that was under the win98 system, will the
money program now under xp/pro be able to read the fat16 data file that
was under w98 or will it have to converted over to ntfs also? if so,
how would that be done, since xp/pro would already be running under ntfs?

thanks bob

FAT and NTFS are disk formats, not file formats. When you copy a file
to a NTFS disk, the file itself is not changed, just the way it is
handled on the disk.
Very old applications may not be compatible with NTFS, but MS Money
should not have any issues here.
