Hi, does anybody know if it is possible to buy a 5 user
licence for windows xp pro.
setting up a small network for 4 computers at my new
business, believe xp pro would be a good operating system
to use?? but can not find out iformation about multiple
user licences.

Thankyou for your prompt reply, am I correct in assuming
that buying the 5 seperate is the best option...and have
you a tip for which site you find cheapest and best to buy
from

Just know that Volume Licensing opens up the business to software
audits, and in a small business that has little or no restrictions or
supervision on employees installing software, a software audit could be
potentially financially dangerous for a small business. And it seems
like the BSA enjoys preying on smaller businesses that can't afford to
legally defend themselves from themselves.

Thankyou again, but I'm a bit confused with your reply, do
you recommend buying seperate copies of xp pro, or going
to the site and buying a volume edition....sorry to come
across as a bit dim, thankyou for your help .

I would do which ever way is cheaper, which is most likely the volume
license route. Also the volume license version has no activation to deal
with. Retail copies will make you deal with activation.

I knew they did audits, but didn't know buying the volume license "puts you
on the potential audit list". Thanks for the info.
