Hi,

I'm in the midst of deploying 15 pc's. Since these business class pc's
will have the same exact hardware and software requirements, I was
interested in getting 1 machine to it's ideal state, creating an image
from it, and then loading the image on the 14 remaining machines.

Any guideance would be appreciated. I should mention I will probably
be using Dell Optiplex machines.

My concern is with how MS licesnsing works when it comes to loading an
image from another machine.

Thanks much,

jb

All the information you require is in the help files and tools within the
SUPPORT/Deploy folder on the CD
As regards licensing each machine can still be give its own Activation Key
or you may be using Volume Licensed media in which case the same key is used
on all machines.

When you configure the 'first' PC, make sure that you do not 'activate' any
Microsoft products.

Clone the hard drive to others.

When it comes to activation, call Microsoft and advise them what you are
doing and they can assist to enter the unique Product ID on the case.

Alternatively get Dell to provide a Volume Licence Pack for XP [and Office].

Thanks for the replies. It has been a learning experience.

In my research, I found MS KB29849 which seems extremely helpful.
However, the article states it only applies to W2K Professional.
