How can I change my DVD burner from D: to Z:?
What is the equivalent of Win98's
[device manager][properties][settings]?

Right click on My Computer, choose Manage.
Then choose Disk Management.
Right click on your DVD and choose 'Change drive letter and paths'
Let us know if that works.
On my system, when I click on [Disk Management] a wizard starts:
"Initialize and convert disk wizard."
I got to "Change Drive Letter and Paths..." as follows:
I right clicked [My Computer], left clicked on [Disk Management]. That
started the "Initialize and convert disk wizard." which I cancelled.
(Without starting and canceling the wizard it was not possible to get
a right click menu on [Disk Management]! Then I right clicked on [Disk
Management] and chose [All Tasks][Change Drive Letter and Paths...]
That is as far as I got. the DVD burner does not show up in that
window -- only the HDDs.
In addition to [disk management], there is a menu item called
[removable storage]. My DVD burner is shown under that. There is no
way that I can find to adjust its drive letter.
I'm still stuck
