XP pro fail installation

I'm trying to do a fresh install of XP Pro on a box i
upgraded w/a new mobo, CPU, memory and Hdd. I'm trying to
boot XP from CD(bios is correct), HDD is NOT in boot
sequence. I get the expected message "setup is
inspecting your hardware configuration"...then nothing.
the machine goes to lala land! any suggestions? thnx b
ps BIOS finds all hardware fine!

obviously its hardware or misconfigured hardware

strip to bare essentials and try again check all the
connections and try again and then start substituting
known good hardware.
