hi
For a couple of days I have a very wired problem with DHCP at boot-up. For
month I have
been working with a set-up, where the IP adress got assigned from the DSL
router using dhcp.
For some reason this is not working anymore. Currently when booting up I
stay with no connectivity
because a wrong IP address gets assigned. The IP adress that I see with
'ipconfig' is Window's
default adress, which is of course not part of my routers subnet. When I
then issue a manuel
ipconfig /renew
everything is fine. However I have no chance to explain my wife to switch to
admin, open a console,
issue the famous command and returning back to their account.
My diagnostics is, that due to some strange reason dhcp stopped working
properly at boot time.
From the Web searching I can just report, that I have never used Norton anti
virus, that was one
cause for the problem.
Any help or advise would be apreciated.
kind regards
Heinz
