My Windows XP Pro got corrupted and I cannot reboot. I currently have the
Update Disk with SP1. I had updated XP previously to SP2 online, and also
got sent the disk for XP from Microsoft. I created boot floppies for XP Pro,
XP Pro SP1 and XP Pro SP2. The only floppies that would work were the SP2.

I was able to boot, but I could not do a repair and when I put in my CD with
SP1, it would not load, the message just kept asking for the XP Pro SP2 disk.
What are my options? Do I need to re-format my drive? Is there a way to
get the boot program to recognize my SP1 disk? I need help. Thanks.

Youre messed up somewhere, even if thier was a xp SP5 or SP9,thier not needed
to do a repair, with a repair of xp,by booting to xp cd,youre always will
end up
with xp w/o any updates or SP installed after the repair...XP returns to
default
settings...The retail version of xp is what you need to boot to,and
configure the
BIOS for this if needed..One can/could also boot to xp cd,recovery, type:
CHKDSK C: /R
