XP Pro compatible with Win2K NT Server

I need to upgrade 5 pcs to Win XP Pro (3 from 98 and 2
from 2K). These pcs are connected to a Win 2K NT
server. Will these pcs once upgraded still connect to
server? I am fairly pc literate, just not network
literate. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in
advance.

As long as your domain controller has been updated to Service Pack
6a, you should have little or no trouble.

WinNT 4.0 SP6a Is Recommended for WinXP Clients

it should work since your server is 2k and sp4 ?
if you have dns and support tcp/i

Thanks for the help. A friend has asked me to help
upgrade these pcs to XP Pro as one of the programs they
need to run requires XP. Problem is the server
is "controlled" by an outside "source". My friend
doesn't technically have access (username and password).
I will contact the "source" and ask about the SP.
Anything else I should worry about before upgrading these
pcs on this network (outside of checking that the
programs they run are compatable)? They are trying to
save some money and they got me...dangerous enough to try
but hopefully smart enough to know to ask. Anyway,
thanks again for your help.
