I have successfully added 2 out of 3 new PC's running XP
Pro on to our outdated NT4 domain.

The 3rd machine receives an error suggesting the DC is not
available or the computer account was not found.

I have no idea why 2 out of 3 work w/no issues and the 3rd
is presenting problems.

Any ideas?

Doug,

First workaround did not work. Second one helped a bit,
but when I attempt to logon I get a msg:

"The system cannot log you on now because the domain 'XYZ'
is not available."

Meanwhile 25 other machines are on the domain and
authentication is happening all around me. Any other ideas?

Thanks Doug, with your help I was able to re-join the
domain. I disconnected from the network drop I was using,
went to the other end of the building and everything
worked w/no problems. I can't exactly figure out why I was
getting an IP address from the DHCP server, nbstat was
showing the server name and domain name, I had network
connectivity (good pings), WAN connectivity, (Internet),
but couldn't authenticate.

I appreciate your quick posts, this machine is for our
President and CEO, and I didn't want to keep him waiting.
