XP Pro and XP Home

I just installed a new computer that came with XP Home. I tested it on my
network of XP Home and ME machines and all work fine. Then I upgraded the
new computer to XP Pro with SP2. Now, the new computer can see the other
computers and share their files. Also, the other computers can see that the
new computer is on the network, but access is denied. Windows firewall is
not detected, and cannot be activated. I also get WMI errors in that it says
that it may be corrupted. I believe it is a combination of Firewall and WMI.
I cannot get the Firewall to start. I have reinstalled XP Pro twice. Any
thoughts?
