I've had a computer with AMD's FX-51, (now FX-53),
64-bit CPU and an ASUS SK8N motherboard since last November.
First I had problems with the NVIDIA Video not working
but after I downloaded a Microsoft download for 64-bit
specific CPUs, the video worked OK but several applications
"scrolled slowly" for "Page-Up" and "Page-Down" actions.
This, and a few other things, are acceptable but a
nusiance and, as I've read elsewhere, a "bonus" to Intel to
play catch-up to AMD due to Microsoft's failure to fully
modify XP to work well with the 64-bit formats.
Does anyone know if service pak-2 helps this problem
or, horrors, makes it worse.
