XP Pro adds extra rows to printer.

As we are rolling out XP Pro and replacing Windows 98, printing to labels
and forms are getting out of alignment.

Different apps and printers are doing the same thing, everything was fine in
Windows 98, now with XP extra blank lines are inserted throwing off the
alignment on labels and forms.

The printers are both tractor fed dot matrix, one is a panasonic the other
is an oki. One app is custom the other is out of a box.

No problems until XP Pro was used, now we can't print labels and forms.

Any ideas?
Thanx, Ron

In this case it is a completely different machine. Which is good, at least
we can go back to the win98 machine in order to keep printing invoices.

You can remove and re-install the printer drive, so as to see if this
corrects your problem.

I'm assuming you checked the mfgr's websites for updated XP drivers?

I checked Oki's site, they have four slight model variations for the ML320,
none of them had XP drivers, just Win 2000.

I am thinking it has more to do with the pc or XP than the printer, since we
are dealing with two different printers and two different apps. The pc or
XP seems to be the common thread.

For decade old printers? You're having a laugh, right?!

For a decade old printer that is Still being sold. There is still no
replacement for them for doing multi-part forms. They last for ever and
the printing costs are far lower than for any "better" technology.
