I was cleaning up my hard drive, and deleted some old programs that I don't
use anymore. Unfortunately, I also must've deleted some necessary files along
with them, because now I can't open Windows Media Player, and system restore
opens as a blank shell. Also, when I'm using IE, I can't open my email, but
it works fine in Firefox. Is ther a way to figure out what files (dll's
maybe?) that I've deleted? I've tried re-installing Windows, but I get the
message that the copy of Windows on my machine is newer than the Windows on
my CD.

Try a system restore to a date just before you messed with things.
Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore.

For the System Restore issue (blank frame), these commands should fix the
problem:

From Start-Run, type:

regsvr32 jscript
regsvr32 vbscript
regsvr32 /i mshtml

Arghh...sorry I missed the part about system restore being blank.
Disregard my post.

Thank you very much! This not only cured my System restore issues, it brought
back WMP. Once again, thank you!
