XP only boots into safe mode

Hi.
My PC will only boot into safe mode. I have disabled automatic restart and
the error code on the blue screen is as follows:-
0X0000000A (0X00000000, 0X00000002, 0X00000001, 0X804F9982)
Please help!

Thanks John, but thats not the issue.
Safe Mode is the only way the PC will boot. Choosing normal or last known
good configuration just sends it into an endless loop of restarts, until I
disabled automatic restart, and now it just "blue-screens".
I have come across this problem a few times now, but have not found a
reliable solution. Sometimes System Restore will resolve it, sometimes not.
I'm trying to find a solution that does not require an XP repair or even a
complete re-installation, which I've had to do in the past!
