I recently built a computer( amd 2000xp, AS Rock MB,
256mb crucialDDR, 40gb hadr drive.I used an xp upgrade
disc to do a clean instillation and part of the way
through it asked me to put the 98se disc in to verify
that i had it then it finished the instillation with no
problems,I then activated it over the telephone as
instructed and everything seemed OK.
Now every time I switch on I get a screen asking me if I
want to resume the install or go straight to the welcome
screen, while this does not affect the way xp works ( if
left for 30 seconds it goes to the welcome screen) it is
a nuisance having to select at the start although all you
have to do is press the enter button.
I tried going through the install and registration again
and still have the same problem is this something I have
to live with or is their a cure.
Thanks for any suggestions ALAN

Alan, rt click on MyComputer>Select Prop>Advanced>Startup and
Recovery-Settings>Edit. Look in the Boot.ini file
for any reference to resuming installation and delete it. Or just change
the Timeout=30 to 1.
