Does Windows XP go under Windows NT?

Because I want to download something that's available for
NT users, and I hear XP is a version of NT. Is that true?
Can I download this?

Ben,

Windows XP is NT 5.1. Since the program you want to download says it will
work on NT, it will probably be fine on XP.

Yes - XP is Windows NT 5.1 under a marketing disguise
