xp not saving settings

HI

Suddenly XP pro doesnt seem to save a setting that i made through control
panel after I reboot.

For example, my mouse settings are not stored after I change the right and
left buttons in the control panel.

This is the only setting that I have noticed.

I dont know where to start to find the reason for this.

This happens when you lose full access rights to the respective
registry location, wherever it may be. If this is a recent problem
then you could use System Restore to fix it.

Shut down your antivirus/Spyware then try again.if it works then you may
have to tweak the antivirus/spyware application settings.
