I have a laptop with XP Home & Desktop with XP Prof. Both running sp1. Both
are connected to a wireless hub. Folders are created and shared on both. When
I try to see the computers on the workgroup, I get the following message -

'My-home is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. COntact the administrator of this server to find out if you
have access permissions.
The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available'

Help....

Update - The laptop (XP Home) is sharable, but I cannot the desktop (XP
Prof). I have the same settings on both (or atleast I think I have).

I have same problem, a little different setup: Desktop runs XP Home SP2,
laptop XP Pro SP1, LinkSys wireless router, and I used to share files and
folders both ways... after installing some firewalls (Zonealarm) and other
utilities like Net Nanny I decided to do some tweaks and now I can not acces
the home network... I also need some help!!

If you get help please let me know from who..

I'm having the same problem. Both computers are running SP2. They share the
internet fine, but they're not talking to each other.

I'm running 2 computers through a router to the internet. One has windows
2000 Pro the other one has windows XP. I created a workgroup on both
computers and shared files and computers on both computers.

On the windows 2000 computer, I can see and access the shared files and
printers of the windows XP computer. But on the windows XP computer, I keep
getting the same answer: " Workgroup is not accessible, etc"

Help, anybody

I have the same problem with my Windows XP computer. My computer with Windows
2000 Pro works: I can see and access the shared files and printers of the
Windows XP computer. Help...

On the Windows 2K machine you have to create a user account that
is identical to one on the XP box. They have to have the same
user name and password. They also have to have access rights to
the shared resources.

Also, if you really want to get an answer to your questions,
start a new thread. Most people will ignore your question
thinking it's a response to the person who started this thread.

If that doesn't work, add the NetBEUI protocol to both computers. It's a quick
& easy fix to often-troublesome LAN problems, and has no downside in a home LAN.
