XP network assets proliferate

Like bunnies! My XP home SP2 machine reports LAN drives and other assets
excessively. For example, it describes the C-drive on Machine X as //X/X, X
on X, //x/x, and more. The 3 other machines on our LAN are Win98.

Navigating the list to connect on the home network is a nuisance. Is there
any way I can clear out the extra listings and get a single report for each
available asset?

Right-click and delete the undesired listings.
