Hi
I have a shutdown problem. I need to click twice on the 'stop computer'
button before I can shutdown Windows.
Firstly, the first click is clearly recognized as Windows starts to shut
down (flickering of screen) but it soon comes to a halt and the desktop is
open and active.
I don't think it is a 'reboot on error' problem as I have disabled this
function to get to the bottom of this. I also activated 'write events into
log ' incase of system failure but nothing ever gets written and there are
no error windows so I haven't got much help from Windows.
For the last 3 weeks, I have manually closed services and applications just
before shutdown to see which one might be sticking at shutdown but without
sucess.
The computer used to have two accounts and one has been removed but the 'end
session' button is still visible. Could this have sth to do with it?
Any suggestions welcome as my 'emergency transformer' can't close down
Windows either and I bet it is for the same reason.
I have XP professional with SP1 and 2 and the system is 'tweaked' here and
there
Thanks in advance
