Yes, I have done that and I am afraid I am none the wiser.

I have Media Edition (not sure if it is 2005 or not, but I bought the PC in
February) and as I have never used any other version of XP I just wondered
how this one compared.

You could call it an advanced version. It is a superset of XP
Professional--everything in XP Professional plus added features.

It is pretty much Windows XP Professional with enhanced multimedia
features. Also some features of XP Pro, such as the ability to log
into a Windows NT/2000/2003 Server Domain, are omitted from the Media
Center edition.
