XP Media Center - Unable to connect to network shares wirelessly

I have a client using a windows xp media center computer, they're trying to
access a shared drive on an xp pro machine on the same network, in the same
workgroup.

All software firewalls are turned off on his machine, and other xp pro
machines are able to connect on the lan without any problems.

However, when he tries to browse the network he gets the error message

"<workgroup> is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if
you have access permissions."

Also, when trying to connect to a machine directly (start/run/ \\ipaddress)
, he gets the message

\\192.168.0.102
Incorrect function.

Anyone have any ideas what could be the problem? Upon further investigation
this only seems to be happening when connected wirelessly (D-Link DI624)

I'm having the same problem but my PC is connected through ethernet link. It
does not see any printer or PC attached; other PCs can see the PC with media
center, but the PC is not accessible; it can also connect to the interent.

I was getting \\computername is not accessible. You might not have
permission... everytime I tried to access XP HOME via Workgroups and could
not see shares on it in Network Places.
Wireless between XP HOME SP2 and Media Centre 2005 (i.e. a form of Pro). I
could see all workgroups on each computer and could access
files on Media Centre from HOME but not vice versa. On the XP HOME I went
to
start>run>regedit.HKEY_ LOCAL_
MACHINE>SYSTEM>>CurrentControlSet>Control>Lsa>restrictanonymous (NOT
restrictanonymousam)
and it was set at 1. I set it to 0 and I could access the HOME computer
from Media Centre and vice versa. However, when I checked it,
restrictanonymous had changed back to 1.
I can sometimes access the files on XP HOME using View Workgroup Computers
and now I can always access them via My Network Places. The 0 or 1 doees
not seem to matter now for My Network Places. Not sure about Workgroups.
Any ideas why it changes back to 1? (sometimes without a re-boot)
