XP-MCE to Vista

I am wondering if Windows XP Media Center Editition will be 'allowed' to
upgrade to Vista or if it will have to wiped clean and started from scratch.
If it has to be wiped clean would a MCE owner have to buy a "full version"
of Vista???

You can upgrade from MCE to Vista Home Premium 32bit or Vista Ultimate 32bit
without having to wipe your system clean. See the table at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/upgradeinfo.mspx

If you choose a 64bit edition of Vista you must wipe clean and install
fresh. No upgrade from any 32bit version of Windows to any 64bit version is
ever possible.

You do not have to buy an upgrade edition to upgrade XP. A full edition
gives that option also.

A full edition consts an EXTRA $100 to $140,

money MANY folks do NOT have

I would rather get Ultimate upgrade and office home and student then have
tio pay for JUST Ultimate

I understand the licensing restrictions with the upgrade
