XP machine sees 98se machine but not the printer attached to it?

I have an XP laptop and a 98SE desktop, connected with a Linksys
wireless router. I can see the 98SE box from the laptop and search
directories, etc, but the printer which is attached to the 98SE box
can't be found. File and print sharing is enabled on the 98SE box.
Also the 98SE box can't see the XP laptop, though I don't really care
whether it can or not, but it might be nice down the road.

The printer is a Lexmark x5150 USB connection. Anyone know what might
be the cause of this problem?

Use the Add Printer Wizard in XP (Control Panel, Printers and Faxes, Add a Printer), when the wizard opens, click Next and choose the network printer option.

Joe,

Have you shared your printer? If not, details here on sharing your printer.
There are many possible causes when computers do not show up. Make sure the
XP's firewall is disabled. If you installed any third party firewalls, make
sure it isn't blocking access between the computers. Ensure NetBIOS over
TCP/IP is enabled on all computers.
