XP looses connectivity after IPSEC policy change

I can get to anyhting on the lan including our internal webserver. But
anything outside of the router, XP will send but not recieve. IE times out.
(page cannot be displayed). ... When i check Event viewer i see the
following.
PSec Services: IPSec Services failed to get the complete list of network
interfaces on the machine. This can be a potential security hazard to the
machine since some of the network interfaces may not get the protection as
desired by the applied IPSec filters. Please run IPSec monitor snap-in to
further diagnose the problem.

If i release and renew my ip, or reboot, everything is fine. This is only
effecting the XP machines, not the 2000 or 98 machines.

Did you make sure the IPSEC policies are set correctly?
You may have to revert to default settings and
reconfigure, or shut off the IPSEC services in Servies.msc

So it is only in your subject where you say "after IPsec
policy change" that you give any indication that you are
using IPsec.
The message that you show in the post is normal, even
in the default install state, when the networking stack of
an interface has failed to initialize in time, so that it is not
up when the IPsec agent initializes.
So, if you have done nothing whatever with IPsec, but you
are having network interface issues, then you can see this
message. IOW you may be confusing a symptom as a cause.

Yes, they are set to default, this happens to all of our XP machines, even
from a default install.
Thanks

Thanks for your reply.....

IPSEC is tha only thing in event viewer at the time of the instance.
But what is so stange is we have identical systems runnings Win2K
with same NICS and all that are not having that problem and IPSEC
Does not show any instances in Event Viewer.

thanks

PS - I DID notice when pinging the server, etc that my media is disabled or disconnected....is this a problem? I noticed I cannot view pics on sites anymore....I believe this whole problem has to do with a recent update?
