XP Logon Options - Administrator account has "disappeared"

O

oop_dude

If I use "classic" login dialog window I can login in as Administrator.
Using the "new" logon screen (the one that allows "fast user
switching"), the Administrator account doesn't appear.

I have to say that the admin account USED to be available whether the
"new" or "classic" login type was selected; it didn't make any
difference.

FWIW, under Control Panel -> User Settings the Administrator account
USED to show. It no longer does. However, using User/Group maint
"branch" in the CCM I can still "see" the Administrator user account.

I know strongly suspect there's "flag" bit that's accidentally been
set/reset somewhere in the OS, but have no idea where to look for it.

Anyone know the answer??

Thanks

You might want to take a look here:

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/admins.htm

Or you could take a look at any of these other sites:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=show+administrator+account+on+welcome+screen&spell=1

Good luck
