XP Logon at startup

I have XP professional and it will not boot to a Log on Screen.
I have set the computer to startup with a welcome screen, but XP just
loads to the administrator desktop without asking for a user or
password.

How do I start-up my computer to be password protected.

It is a stand alone computer.

Paul,

Set a password for the user account. If that does not help,

Click Start, Run, type "CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2", and then click OK.
Check the option Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer, and then click OK.

In the control panel, choose the Users icon and require
password to logon.

If that still does not work under user advanced tab chk
that useres have to use ctrl-alt-del to logon this will
force xp to halt waiting for the cmd.
