xp login set to individual signin

I am not sure what they did but my kids seem to have stuffed up our
home computer. Even though it is set to show the Welcome screen where
all the names are listed and they can be selected, when you start the
machine it just comes up with a login dialog box.

Another strange thing that seems to have happened at the same time is
that the Start Menu is wrong. The Start button is missing as are the
Icons on the launch bar. When I hit the keyboard button to bring up
the Start Menu there is nothing showing on the Menu.

I have Zone Alarm on this computer and it reports that since I set it
up two weeks ago it has prevented 213,000 intrusion attempts, so
perhaps that has something to do with it.

your best bet is to do a system restore to a point prior to the kids
intervention.
as far as za, if it prevented the intrusions, then..well, it prevented them.
But, it's worth investigating what program/s are being reported.
