Desert Rat

Problem here, need help. Microsoft says to call the store, which is now out
of business.
After downloading a few updates from the Windows Update site, XP now asks me
to log in (which it didn't do before the update), flashes by wallpaper for
half-a-second, then returns to the log in screen. This ever happen to
anyone else? Please Help

You probably have an antivirus app installed that you need to Uninstall, and
reinstall antivirus
AFTER SP2 update.

You would need to somehow logon to that windows install to remove the
app.(e.g. log on the Recovery Console)

If you cannot sign into windows, you will have to reinstall all. If you have
the disk that lets you install to a new folder, you can 'take ownership' of
the old data

What options do you have available for reinstall, or recovery?
