XP LAN Problem

Situation

2 XP Pro desktops both connected to a D-Link router (my gateway
1 Windows ME laptop connected to the same D-Link route
cable modem connected to the D-Link route
all PC’s on the same workgroup, MSHOM
Windows firewall not enabled on any PC and no 3rd party firewall software use
all PC’s can connect to the internet through the route
all network cards have TCP/IP, MS Client & MS file & print sharin
I can share one of the 2 printers on the XP machines but not the other printer (can't even see it
I am the administrator on all machines; there are no other user account
printers and shared directories have sharing enabled

I can see all the shared folders on the various machines but can only access the folders on the Windows ME machine from either XP machine. I cannot access the folders on the XP machines from any of the 3 PC’s. In other words there is a LAN but it’s inaccessible

In addition to not being able to share files I can’t play multiplayer games on the 2 XP machines

I’ve been reading various solutions on the MS Knowledgebase and various newsgroups for a week now and nothing seems to work. I even bought a networking book from Microsoft Press. Here is the exact error message that I get when I try to access the folders on the XP machines

"\\PC1\SharedDocs in not accessible. You might not have permission to use the network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions
Not enough server storage is available to process the command

Any help would be appreciated greatl

Greetings mrblase,

The problem is on the machine you are attempting to connect to. It's not on
the machine you see the error. On the computer you are connecting, checking
the Event Viewer for an event ID 2011. You need to fix the IRPStackSize that
is in the Microsoft Knowledge Base Article below. Norton Antivirus can cause
this to happen.

You are indeed a computer god. That was the problem. I never mentioned that I was using Norton Anti-Virus on each machine but you pegged it. I can't tell you how many technicians at work tried to figure this out and coundn't and how many hours I've spent reading and looking for that one little piece of data that would unlock the secret to letting it all work. I was going to completely rebuid my PC tomorrow and now, instead, I can play Age of Empires against my son on the LAN

Thanks

mrblase
