XP Internet Connection Firewall

I have had such a horrible experience with Norton's
Internet Security software that I have uninstalled it and
plan to enable XP's Internet Connection Firewall. My
printer and fax had problems with NIS, so my question:
If I experience similar problems with ICF, would
disabling ICF return my printer and fax to proper working
order? This is a naive and open-ended question, I
realize, but I surely would apprecite assistance.

Thanks,

xp's internet connection firewall is not particularly
user friendly. Before you go down that road, may i
suggest you give zone alarm (www.zonelabs.com) a try.
They do a totally 'free' version that is just as good as
the one you pay for. At least with zone alarm it will ask
your permission before it allows anything to connect to
the internet. I have used it for many years without any
problem.

Hope this helps
