XP internet connectiion

I upgraded from me to xp and cannot connect to the net.
the modem is only working @19k instead of 53k?
I uninstall xp and everything is fine. Any ideas? thanx

Internal modem or external? Try getting the latest WinXP drivers from the
modem manufacturer web site.
Also check the Phone & Modem options (Control Panel), Modems, properties
then look for Maximum Port Speed. Make sure it's more than 19K
