XP/inter Domain logon issues

I have some users on XP laptops homed in a local NT domain. We have them
accessing a remote domain to access some shared resources on remote servers.
(I realize there should be a trust put in place but I have no say in this).

We are doing things like this:

if user need access to remote shares:

net use * \\[servername]\share /user:DOMAIN\username and then having the
user enter their password to access the share. This has suddenly stopped
working.

Some users, recently moved from the remote domain to our local and still
accessing Exchange resources on the remote domain are also experiencing
authentication issues.

This has only seems to come up on the XP systems and I have zero access to
management utilities on the remote domain.

Any input would be great.

what do you receive if using net view \\remotepc? if it is system error 5, this is permission or cahced credentials issue, if 53, this is connection or name resolution issue,

Don't send e-mail or reply to me except you need consulting services. Posting on MS newsgroup will benefit all readers and you may get more help.
