XP Installation problems

M

Modec

I'm currently trying to install windows xp on a 2gig harddrive
formatted as fat.

I've copied the contents of i386 into c:\sys
The file 'disk1' is present in c:\sys and is readable

When I run winnt.exe from the directory, the setup starts, warns me
about smartdrive (tried both with and without) and fails trying to
copy 'disk1'

I tried skipping the 'disk1' file, but it can't copy any of the
files...

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm beginning to think I have a hardware
error or something...

Thanks in advance,

Poul Nielsen

#1. A 2GB hard drive is way too small for Windows XP.

#2 Windows XP can only be installed on a drive formatted FAT32 or NTFS.
