A while ago I upgraded my hardware from a 350 PII to a
1.3 Celeron. XP did not recognize the change in processor
and mother bd. I had nothing on the hard but XP, so I did
not loose anything. What's the deal.

Second ? is how many computers can you install a single
CD of XP on?

Thanks,
Dave

Dave, I'm not sure what you mean by this. Could you please explain with a
bit more detail? In general, however, it is widely recommended that you
perform a Repair installation of Windows XP after you make a significant
change to your hardware configuration (motherboard and processor, mostly).

Instructions for how to perform a Repair installation can be found here:

You can use the same CD to install on multiple computers, but you'll need a
unique license (read: CD key) for each computer. You can purchase
additional licenses for XP here:

More info: The only thing on the computer was WinXP. I
had not loaded any apps. So doing a full reload, as I
thought I had to do, was not a real problem.

Thanks for the help, Mike.
