Hi,

Thanks for posting here.

To secure a Mail server, there are server factors we should consider, such
as mail server application security, windows system security, network
security and so on.

Please note this newsgroup provides break/fix resolution. However, this
appears to be consulting in nature. We are not the best support resource
for this kind of issue. Although we are happy to provide general
information and suggestions on it here and you may receive suggestions from
other partners on this topic, for more efficient assistance, I recommend
you contact our CSS advisory service at
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/advisoryservice.

For your reference, I have included the following links which introduce how
to secure Windows XP computer and mail server. I hope that they can be of
assistance.

Windows XP Security Guide
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/prodtech/windowsxp/secwinxp/defaul
t.mspx

Mail Server Security Wizard
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/archive/isa/2000/proddocs/isadocs/cmt_mailw
izard.mspx?mfr=true

With that been said, Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA)
Server includes the Mail Server Security Wizard which you can use to secure
a mail server behind ISA Server. The wizard configures ISA Server rules to
securely publish internal mail services to your external users. If it is
possible, you may consider installing an ISA server to provide better
protection.

I hope this helps. Have a good day!

Sincerely
Morgan Che
